"Writing is a form of therapy; sometimes I wonder how all those who do not write, compose, or paint can manage to escape the madness, melancholia, the panic and fear which is inherent in a human situation."
Graham Greene, Ways Of Escape (via books-n-quotes)

The Moons Daughter

badpoetrygraveyard:

The legend of the pale white maiden

The story of the beauty that was taken

By a mortal nonetheless what a surprise

A story the proves love has no shape or size

True love which formed between a spirit and a mortal

It all began at the end of the year at the opening of the portal

A gateway between two realms which was kept secret

No mortal should have known about it or come near it

But on that fateful day a mortal slipped by unnoticed

Near the moons daughter he landed the closest

A gasp came out from the maidens mouth

The man startled and frightened that things would go south

He tried to explain his position to the maiden so she would not fear him

But he could not utter a word for her beauty stunned him

Her eyes were like the midnight blue and skin white and fair

The poor fellow couldn’t do anything but gaze at her and stare

Her hair was darker than space itself yet it was silky soft

His mind went blank he couldn’t think not a single thought

The maiden reached her hand and spoke soft calming words into his ear

She told him that there was no need to be startled and there was nothing to fear

She had explained to him that he fell into the realm of spirits and that it was forbidden

The maiden offered to stay silent and to keep him safe and hidden

The man agreed for he has never seen such beauty in his life

For he only knew work for days and nights for only strife

In a cabin by the lake they sat

When she turned and looked him in the eye his heart went flat

They talked and talked like time didn’t exist

Yet her beauty made him nervous he could feel the sweat in his fist

He was so star struck by her beauty he forgot to ask her name

She answered “ Luna “ and thus his life would never be the same

She asked him about the mortal realm and all its wonders

She spoke about how her fate was to become the moon and be in endless slumber

The mortal promised her a night that would never be forgotten

Its not like you meet a spirit goddess that often

So they went through the portal and took a tour in the mortal realm

Luna was happy and smiling and the mortal sensed a feeling that would overwhelm

A sense of attachment that would eventually tear him apart

A terrible feeling that he could feel deep down in his heart

Sadly he didn’t care for his well being as long as she smiled

For her heart was as pure as that of a child

They sat on a greentop hill and watched as stars flew past

The mortal only had one wish that this night would just last

She held his hand tightly and he did the same

They’d share a kiss that surely made them insane

ِA tear fell from her eyes as she said “ i have to fulfill my fate

Thus he knew that the portal was closing and she couldn’t be late

He felt his heart slowly being torn

A death of love that was just born

As she went through the portal she said “ look up to the sky whenever you want to talk

He felt helpless as he watched her fade away and into the portal she’d walk

He’d never forget her smile and kiss

For she’s the moons daughter that he will miss.
